Ahmedabad, Nov 25: A leader of the eunuch community was shot to death here yesterday by some unknown persons, police said.
The incident took place when Imran Ajmeri alias Soniyade Aashikde Pavaiya was going in a car when some unknown persons shot him four times from point blank range, they said.
Soniyade had contested Lok Sabha elections in 2004 against senior BJP leader L K Advani from Gandhinagar constituency and secured 767 votes.
According to police, Soniyade was rushed to V S Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
A case has been registered against unknown persons and further investigation was on, police said, adding that the murder was possibly result of an internal business rivalry.
