8. Mrinal Sen
One of the greatest directors of Indian parallel cinema, Mrinal Sen was born in Faridpur, Bangladesh.
He then came to Kolkata to study. His interest in theatre made him inclined towards cinema and he did wonders. He rewrote the lexicon of Indian filmmaking.
9. Amartya Sen
The Nobel Prize winner for economics was originally from Wari, Dhaka, in present-day Bangladesh, and both of his parents were born in Manikganj, Dhaka.
He has made contributions to welfare economics, social choice theory, economic and social justice, economic theories of famines, and indexes of the measure of well-being of citizens of developing countries.
10. Bimal Roy
One of the most acclaimed filmmakers, he made masterpieces like Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Biraj Bahu, Madhumati, Sujata, and Bandini, making him an important director of Hindi cinema.
He won a number of awards throughout his career, including eleven Filmfare Awards, two National Film Awards, and the International Prize of the Cannes Film Festival. He was born in Suapur, now in Bangladesh.
