New Delhi: Former Tehelka Chief Editor Tarun Tejpal's bail plea was by Bombay High Court today.
Tejpal had moved a bail plea to meet his mother suffering from brain tumor.
Tejpal's mother Shakuntala Devi has been admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Mapusa town as she is in the last stages of the disease.
Tejpal, who is currently lodged in Sada sub-jail in Vasco, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a junior woman colleague inside the lift of a five star hotel.
According to his lawyer Swapnil Nachinolkar, Tejpal is likely to be escorted to the hospital tomorrow morning.
Tejpal had sought bail after Goa Crime branch filed a charge sheet against him on February 17 for rape, outraging modesty and sexual harassment of the woman journalist.
On March 7, the court had adjourned the hearing in the bail plea for March 12 after hearing arguments in-camera by prosecution and defense counsels.
Subsequently, the court posted the matter for order today.
