On March 24, the court had rejected the data provided by the Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi government in pursuance of its earlier direction seeking details pertaining to nursery admission in unaided recognized private schools and had called for fresh data, which was submitted today.

As per the Lt Governor's nursery admission guidelines, out of 100, 70 points are given childrem who reside within 0 to 8 kms of a school, 20 points to a child whose sibling is studying in the same school and 5 points are earmarked for students whose parents were alumni.

Delhi government had recently done away with five points which were being awarded to children under inter-state transfer category.

The court is hearing several petitions and appeals filed by parents against various aspects of nursery admission.

One of the appeals has been by filed by some parents against the March 6 order of the single judge bench by which government was asked to conduct a fresh draw of lots among similarly placed children who have secured 70 points on the basis of neighbourhood criteria.

The March 6 order of the single judge was stayed by the division bench against which whose another plea was filed by those on whose petition the earlier order had been passed.
