New Delhi: Somnath Bharti, who sparked multiple controversies, will continue as Delhi Law Minister, the Political Affairs Committee of Aam Aadmi Party decided today.
After the Political Affairs committee meeting was over, Yogendra Yadav, party's chief spokesperson said that the party has ruled out the removal of Somnath Bharti from cabinet.
“The party however disapproves of the language used by Bharti against his critics” said Yadav.
Aam Aadmi Party has expressed regret over the bad language used by Bharti.
Embarrassed over his crass remarks against senior lawyer Harish Salve and BJP leader Arun Jaitley, the Aam Aadmi Party ordered Delhi's Law Minister Somnath Bharti to pipe down and warned him to mind his language in future.
The minister was also under the scanner for barging inside the home of Ugandan women for conducting a midnight raid at the Khirki Extension.
The African women had accused Bharti of misbehavior and attack.
Defending their party's minister, Yogendra Yadav, in a press conference said that Bharti went to conduct the raid on the urging of the local residents who were fed up with the drug and prostitution racket run by some African women.
“However, the Lt. Governor has ordered a judicial inquiry into the Somnath Bharti's brawl with the Ugandan women. And, as of now the party is waiting for the inquiry into the case” Yadav said.
