New Delhi: Traders in Delhi will soon be able to obtain licences in a simplified manner after the Municipal Corporations took a decision in this regard here today.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will do away with the need to submit No-Objection Certificates, and a trade license can be obtained by simply submitting an affidavit, a statement issued here said.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the MCD leaders chaired by Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.
The BJP-ruled MCDs have also been asked to look into the problems and challenges faced by street vendors. There are more than 3.5 lakh street vendors and a large number of them face problems.
“We will streamline the system so that they are not harassed,” Goel said.
The Delhi BJP president stressed on the need to provide services to the doorstep and asked the councillors to be constantly in touch with people at the grassroots level and resolve their problems.
