Jamui (Bihar): Seven labourers have been freed ten days after they were abducted by Maoists from Navinagar ghat in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said today.

The Maoists released the labourers at an isolated place yesterday from where they walked upto Malaypur railway station and boarded a train to reach their respective villages, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh said.

As the news about their safe return spread, the police brought all seven to the district headquarters for questioning to find out the details related to their abduction, he said.

The abducted labourers were identified as Anjay Singh, Raju Yadav, Pappu Yadav, Bachhu Yadav, Jitesh Sao, Rajeev Singh and Bambam Singh, the DSP said.

They have been taken to the sadar hospital for medical examination although all of them appeared to be in good health, Singh said.

The details gathered from the labourers would be of immense help while launching combing and search operations against the Maoists in future, he said.

Armed Maoists had abducted ten labourers while they were working at a sand mine site in Navinagar village in Jamui district on March 13. Three of them were released on the same day.
