New Delhi: Sunil James, a Merchant Navy Captain who was in jail in Togo, western Africa, for the last five months was released and is expected to be in India latest by tomorrow.
Another sailor who had been imprisoned along with Captain James, Vijayan, has been released too.
Syed Akbaruddin, the MEA spokesperson tweeted: 'After meet between India's High Commissioner in Accra & Prez Gnassingbe of Togo Capt Sunil James & Vijayan released. Now with HC Sagar"
Sunil James was the captain of oil tanker MT Ocean Centurion and was in a jail in Togo for the last six months.
