Kejriwal promises to regularise DTC contractual staff within 4-5 months

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today appealed to DTC contractual employees to call off their indefinite strike and fast immediately.

 
The DTC staff employed on contractual basis have been sitting on fast unto death demanding permanent jobs.
 
Kejriwal gave a written assurance to the staff and said that once the committee report arrives, he would look into the matter and try to make their jobs permanent within 4-5 months.
 
Kejriwal said that he required 4 days till the committee's report arrives.
 
The contractual drivers, staff have been on strike outside Kejriwal's home demanding regular jobs.
 
The protest has hit transport in the capital as more than 500 buses went off the roads.
