Saharanpur: In a non-descript village called Sansarpur of Saharanpur district in UP, lives Firoz Fatima, who has suddenly became a star among her people.

In the seventh season of Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima created history by winning the jackpot to become the first female KBC winner.

"I never dreamt of winning so much money in one go. My father died a year ago. Our family was in debt, our house was mortgaged, but my mother never lost courage.

"I continued sending SMSes for KBC, and when the opportunity came, I devoted my full attention to prepare for the quiz.

"I had a chance to win Rs 3 crore, but there was this risk of losing this money (Rs 1 crore). I had used all my three lifelines, and since I was not confident, I quit".

Fatima revealed how her family bought an inverter to watch KBC show at night, because of frequent power cuts in their village, which is the norm rather than the exception here.

"I want to use this money for my mother Fareeda Parveen Jehan and younger sister Fayaza Khan, repay demands, and acquire learning to move forward", said the KBC winner.

Fatima wanted to study further after doing her B.Sc. but could not due to financial hardships. Her father died of a heart attack  year ago.
