Mumbai: A demolition squad of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, alongwith a large police force, today began demolishing 11 additional floors added illegally to a four-storeyed building called Deshabhimani in Siddhartha Nagar, Goregaon in the suburbs here.
BMC officials said, they had given permission to build four floors, but S M Saroya, the builder, added 11 more floors and sold off all the floots.
After issuing demolition notice, the BMC today began demolition work. There was tension in the area, as families living on these floors have been rendered homeless.
