Bajwa said Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had taken the people for granted and went on to ruin the state.

He alleged that SAD leaders were not better than the Talibans who took the drug route to lay their control over Afghanistan.

A study conducted in Ludhiana in 2012 had revealed that 67 per cent of school- and college-going boys and 52 per cent of the girls had tried drugs, Bajwa said, appealing to the people to express their anger against the drug menace by supporting the party's “Chakka Jam” (Block traffic) programme for two hours on January 16.

The name of Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia had figured in the multi-crore drug racket, and now SAD leaders had started false propaganda against him (Bajwa) to divert the attention of the people, he claimed.

The state Congress chief said he was ready face a CBI probe in this connection, and dared the Chief Minister to order an inquiry into the involvement of Congress leaders in the case during its previous regime from 2002 to 2007.
