New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal's father Govindram Kejriwal feels, it's all God's wish that his son is going to become the chief minister of Delhi.
In an interview to India TV at Kejriwal's home, Govindram Kejriwal said: "This is God's wish. Man does good work, and God gives the fruits of labour. It's my prayer to God that he succeeds."
"Look, he got 28 seats, and he got the support of exactly 8 others (from Congress), making it 36, neither 35 nor 37. It's after all God's wish", he said.
Asked about how Kejriwal will go about reducing power tariff, his father said: "It's all part of the process. Electric meters will be checked and the accounts of discoms will be audited. If the companies fail, then fresh contracts can be given to other companies."
On how 700 litres of free water will be supplied, Kejriwal's father said: "That needs to be gone into detail. Suppose a family used 701 litres of water, it may have to pay for the entire amount of water consumed. There are so many combinations which need to be thought about."
On Jan Lokpal Bill, Govindram Kejriwal said, this bill would definitely be more stringent, and will land corrupt leaders behind bars.
Asked whether the Congress would continue to extend outside support, Kejriwal's father said, their leaders are speaking in different tunes. "One of them says, it's unconditional, while Sheilaji said it's not unconditional. They are changing their views by the minute."
