New Delhi: Diverse rape cases keep hogging the news time and again. Author Radha Kumar has described rape as the most common crime in India and UN human rights chief also stated that rape is the national problem of India.

All such statements from international delegates are a concern for India. Latest data also reveal that India is getting weaker day by day in terms of security to its women.

Rape cases in India have doubled between 1990 and 2008. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, 24,206 rape cases were reported in India in 2011.

But there are so many rape cases which go unreported,  there are families which don't let the girl file complaint of any sexual abuse or rape just for the sake of protecting the family's social reputation.

Every Indian remembers Decemeber 16, 2012 , the day a 23-year-old woman named Damini was gang-raped on a bus in New Delhi as the whole nation came to protest on streets in order to demand justice for Damini but how many of us are aware when the nation was protesting for Damini a 15-year-old Dalit, or former “untouchable”  girl was being held captive in Dharauli village in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, and was repeatedly raped by a group of upper-class perpetrators.
