Buxar: Nine persons, mostly girls, went missing in a boat mishap in river Ganga in Chausa block of Bihar's Buxar district today, police said.
As per information collected from people on board the boat, 21 persons were returning home after working in field in Palia village in Uttar Pradesh when the vessel capsized, Superintendent of Police Babu Ram said.
12 people swam to safety, while 9 are still missing, he said, adding there was no trace of them even after three hours of search by the divers.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel were called to carry out intensive search of the missing persons, the SP said.
