Mumbai: A major fire broke out at Taloja factory in Taloja, Navi Mumbai on Monday evening.
The entire factory housing petroleum products was gutted in the blaze.
No casualties were reported.
Firefighters said a blast at a boiler at Taloja Petrochemicals triggered the blaze.
Officials pressed five fire engines from Taloja, Panvel and nearby areas into service. The fire was brought under control in about two hours.
The said that the fire spread quickly due to a large quantity of lubricants, which are highly inflammable, stored inside the unit.
There was no damage to other factories in the vicinity, they added.
