New Delhi: A secret note has been circulated by intelligence agencies stating that Lashkar-e-Taiba has trained 68 female fighters aged between 19 and 23 years of age in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
This group is named as Dukhtareen-e-Taiba. Though using female suicide bombers is nothing new, LeT takes the concept a step further.
From LeT, alternately translated as Army of the Righteous or Army of the Pure, comes Dukhtareen-e-Taiba, or Daughters of the Righteous or Pure.
According to intelligence reports, the chief of the women's wing of Lashkar, Umi Hammad has personally trained these daring women.
The idea for Dukhtareen-e-Taiba was devised by Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
