Lashkar's Anwar Khan who beheaded martyr Hemraj gets Rs 5 lakh reward: report

New Delhi, Jan 30: An Indian news channel has reported quoting intelligence reports that Lashkar-e-Toiba's terrorist Anwar Khan, who beheaded Indian Army's martyred jawan Lance Naik Hemraj has been given a Rs 5 lakh reward.

New Delhi, Jan 30: An Indian news channel has reported quoting intelligence reports that Lashkar-e-Toiba's terrorist Anwar Khan, who beheaded Indian Army's martyred jawan Lance Naik Hemraj has been given a Rs 5 lakh reward.



The intelligence report is yet to be verified. According to the news channel (CNN-IBN), the operation near the Line of Control was led by a serving ISI subedar Jabbar Khan of a unit based in Tattapani in Pak occupied Kashmir.

There were 15 members of Lashkar and Jaish-e-Muhammad in that team, says the report based on wireless intercepts.

The attack, the report says, was planned for nearly a fortnight, the ambush party was stationed at Barmoch border outpost in PoK, just across the Atma post held by Rajputana Rifles.

The Lashkar team monitored the movement and deployment of Indian Army jawans, and a day after the attack, the ambush party was spotted at Tattapani in PoK, says the report.

Anwar Khan, the report says, was also involved in beheading of an Indian army captain in 1996 in Krishna ghati area.

The report further states that senior brigade level ISI officers have been holding meetings with terrorist commanders for the last two weeks near the LoC, and local guides familiar with the local terrain are being drafted to helpin infiltration by terror groups near Poonch.
