New Delhi, May 28: RJD chief Lalu Prasad today criticised Team Anna members for accusing the Prime Minister of corruption.
“The Prime Minister is not simply a Prime Minister. He is the leader of the country. He is such a clean person, a symbol of honesty and simplicity. Prashant (Bhushan) and his father have got derailed.
This (the allegation) is obnoxious. They should take back their words,” Prasad said. Meanwhile, Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan today again attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh referring to the CAG report about alleged irregularities in coal allocation during his tenure.
Slamming Team Anna for levelling corruption charge against the Prime Minister, Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanaswmay said it has no locus standi to question Singh's integrity and had lost public trust.
Pointing out that the members of Anna Hazare's team were themselves trading charges of irregularities against each other, he said: “They have no locus standi to question the integrity of the Prime Minister.”
