Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi after his health deteriorated. Advani remains under observation. His condition is "stable", hospital sources said. He has been admitted under Dr Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in the neurology department. The 96-year-old former deputy prime minister was brought to the hospital about two days ago.
He had been admitted to the same hospital earlier this year. The reason for this latest hospitalisation could not be immediately known.
"We request everyone to respect the family's privacy at this time. Further updates will be provided as appropriate," a statement by Apollo Hospital read.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda also inquired about the health of Lal Krishna Advani who admitted to Apollo Hospital. Nadda also spoke to Advani family over phone and took health update from the team of doctors who are treating the leader.
