Hyderabad, Mar 6: Concerned over the tough posturing of the Telangana Congress leaders over the separate statehood demand, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy tonight held a meeting with minsters from the region. Reddy is understood to have expressed concerns over the party MLAs from the region staying away from the House.

Congress MLAs and MLCs from Telangana have been boycotting the Legislative Assembly and Council for several days now over the separate statehood demand. They are also abstaining from the House to support those government employees who held a non-cooperation agitation for Telangana. Though the TDP legislators from Telangana have also been staying away from the House, they decided to attend from tomorrow in view of the government employees calling off their non-cooperation agitation.

Meanwhile, the ministers are understood to have told the chief minister to see that they get appointment with party president Sonia Gandhi to present their case for separate Telangana. The ministers from Telangana have already sought an appointment with Gandhi. All the ministers from the region plan to go to Delhi to meet Gandhi, state minister B Saraiah told reporters.

The Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs held a meeting yesterday and decided to rush to the national capital on March 12 to press for their demand of Telangana. "We (MPs, MLAs and MLCs) all shall submit our resignations to Sonia Gandhi if she does not give a positive assurance on creation of a separate state," MLA R Damodar Reddy announced at the end of the meeting. However, the issue of resignations was not discussed at the meeting with Chief Minister tonight, Saraiah said. PTI
