The usually reserved and shy actor Ajay Devgan seems to have broken his silence for once.
At a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday, the actor lashed out at those who claim that the `Khans' (Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir) are the unspoken kings of Bollywood.
"It is totally wrong to say or assume that the Khans dominate the industry. I try to do the best I can," said the actor while speaking about the debacle of London Dreams or the fringe success of All The Best.
Industrywallas are nodding in agreement with the actor's assertion pointing out that while the three Khans are the most succesful, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan share the top spots with them.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "The Khans occupy the top slot but the industry is ruled not just by the Khans, it is ruled by the Roshans, the Kumars and even the Devgns."
Says filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt: "In these times when our products are all sizzle and no steak, we need an outbreak of true modesty. It's still refreshing to see Ajay shed his modesty for a change and assertively say that I may not be leading the race, but I'm not far behind either."
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt agrees: "No one actor dominates the industry today. But I don't think there's any undertone of animosity in Ajay's statement."
