Malwan, Fatehpur, Jul 11: As the rescue teams were busy using their gas cutters to extricate bodies and injured passengers from the mangled coaches of the ill-fated Howrah-Delhi Kalka Mail on Sunday, they suddenly spotted a hand suddenly moving from out of the S-2 coach, giving a desperate sign for help.

The rescuers swung into action and with the help of a gas cutter made a large hole well enough to help the trapped passenger to come out of the mangled S-2 coach. The man was ultimately pulled out and rushed to the hospital.

The S-2 coach had borne the most severe brunt , as other coaches crashed into it as the Kalka Mail was derailed.

There were grisly and unnerving scenes of mutilated limbs and bodies lying around as the rescue teams were busy taking them out and giving them the shroud.
