New Delhi: The parents of the December 16 gang-rape victim today said that the juvenile convict in the case should not be allowed to walk free, amid reports that he may be kept under close watch of an NGO following his impending release this month.

The mother of the victim said that his release on the death anniversary of their daughter would be a slap on their faces.

"For us he (juvenile) staying at an NGO is as good as free. For us he will be the killer of our daughter who was absolved of the heinous crime. We demand that he should not be released," said the mother of the victim.

The parents had demanded that the face of juvenile convict, who was the "most brutal" of all the six offenders, should be shown to the world before he is released saying "he is a threat to the society".

Parents of the victim have also made representations to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

They alleged that many people are trying to save the juvenile accused and that releasing the juvenile on the

death anniversary of their daughter will be slap on their faces.

"His release will give courage to many others who are below 18 years that they can do anything to the girls and daughters walking on the streets and go scot free.

"His release on the death anniversary of our daughter will be slap on our faces but we are helpless. For the last three years we repeatedly knocked every door seeking justice for our daughter but in vain," said the mother.

The father also stressed that it was important to assess the mind set of the boy before releasing him.

"There is a need to assess his mind set to ensure that he does not attack another girl like he had attacked my daughter after being released.

"But nobody consults us. It is just that when another rape takes place in the national capital involving a juvenile, we are dragged into the debates and our wounds become fresh, he said.
