Hazaribagh: With Ranchi emerging as the base for alleged activities by Indian Mujahideen (IM) following the Sunday serial blasts in Patna, Jharkhand Police wants its own Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
“We have already sent our proposal, on the pattern of Maharashtra, to the state government for clearance,” Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar told reporters here yesterday.
“ATS is urgently required to liquidate the IM and other anti-national terrorist groups by taking quick action and contain activities of IM and other anti national activities more effectively,” he said.
