Two coaches of Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express derailed near Lucknow Charbagh station

Two bogies of Shaheed Express which runs between Amritsar in Punjab and Jaynagar in Bihar derailed near Lucknow Charbagh railway station on Monday morning.

Two coaches of Jaynagar-Amritsar Express derail near Lucknow Charbagh station 

Two bogies of Shaheed Express which runs between Amritsar in Punjab and Jaynagar in Bihar derailed near Lucknow Charbagh railway station on Monday morning. The train was on its way to Jaynagar from Amritsar when its two coaches derailed. 

A railway official told PTI that on Monday, no casualty has been reported in the incident.

The incident took place around 8 am when the train left the platform at the Charbagh railway station and two of its bogies derailed. The passengers of the derailed bogies were shifted to other compartments.

"The 4674 Shahid Express has left for its onward journey," Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Jagtosh Shukla said.

According to railway sources, there was some commotion in the derailed bogies with the passengers raising an alarm but senior officers reached the spot and the situation was controlled.

Lucknow Charbagh is one of the three main railway stations of Lucknow.
