Jammu, Apr 16: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today favoured making Central University of Jammu as a centre of excellence in teaching and research.
“CUJ should be developed as a centre of excellence in teaching and research alongside focusing on ethical and moral values to produce mature and balanced personalities,” Vohra said today.
The Governor, who is Chancellor of the University, was chairing the first meeting of the first Court of the University, here.
Referring to the establishment of this upcoming university, the Governor said that the members of the Court are a very distinguished group of people, drawn from varied areas of expertise, and will provide guidance in establishing this varsity.
The Governor suggested that the University Court could meet twice a year till the University gets fully established so that we could benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the Members of the Court.
