In a major mishap, a bus overturned in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Thursday. At least two were reported dead, and 37 others were injured in the tragic accident.
The bus, which was on its way from Ramnagar to Chhitredi village, met with an accident near the village, they said, adding that the condition of several injured persons is critical.
Police and locals have rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation, the sources said.
Condolences pour in
Reacting to the tragic news, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh offered his condolences to the bereaved families.
Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir said,"Extremely pained by the loss of lives due to a tragic road accident in Ramnagar, Udhampur. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for speedy recovery of injured. Directed district administration to ensure best possible treatment to the injured."
