Jaipur, Sept 13: Forget Citizens Charter. Forget Grievance Redressal Mechanism. In Jaipur, the state government-run Sawai Man Singh Hospital can throw you out of the ward if don't have money to pay for your treatment or if you don't have any attendant with you.
Three poor, unattended patients were thrown out of the Hospital's emergency ward and they lay outside fighting death for four days.
One of them succumbed, but when the local media raised a hue and cry, the authorities hurriedly took in the remaining two.
A seriously ill Sher Singh told India TV's Sangeeta Pranavendra about his predicament on Monday.
On hearing that the media has picked up the story, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital L C Sharma hurriedly took the remaining two patients to the award and sent a doctor to look after their treatment.
Said Medical Superintendent L C Sharma: "We didn't throw them out. They were sitting outside".
The Rajasthan government in expensive ads placed in newspapers claims to provide free medical treatment to poor people, but this incident nails the lie.
