Srinagar: Restricted curfew has been imposed in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir after two youth died in firing by the Army.
On Monday, the Army and Defence Minister had expressed deep regret over the killing of two civilians. An FIR has been filed in this case. The Army too has ordered a court of inquiry into the matter.
Since both the victims belonged to Budgam, security forces are taking all precautions to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. Security has been further tightened in Srinagar in view of these incidents.
Assuring a fair enquiry into the incident, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley had tweeted, “the Budgam incident in the Kashmir valley is highly regrettable. A fair inquiry will be held and action taken against those found guilty”.
Two others were injured when Army personnel fired at a Maruti 800 car which did not stop despite repeated calls by the security forces.
