Jammu, Mar  01: The Jammu and Kashmir government today said that it was examining the proposal of opening up of mobile schools for the nomads of the state.





“The government is examining the proposal for opening mobile schools for the nomads in Jammu and Kashmir as per norms after completing the survey and ensuring feasibility,” Minister of State for Education Feroz Ahmad Khan said in response to a question from Devender Singh Rana.

Meanwhile, Khan informed that upgradation of schools in the state will be examined from time to time as per the predetermined norms, feasibility and subject to the agreement of Union HRD Ministry.

Replying to another question of Jehangir Hussain Mir, Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Nazir Ahmad Gurezi said “during 2011-12 the state imported 12.94 lakh sheep and goat to meet the domestic need of mutton in the state.”

“At present estimated population of sheep and goat registered in the state is 67.268 lakh,” he said, adding that actual figure shall be become available after the completion of 19th livestock census which has been conducted and the data is being consolidated and analysed.
