Srinagar, July 29: Two guerrillas were killed Monday in Jammu and Kashmir where the army said it had foiled infiltration bids from across the Line of Control (LOC).
A defence spokesman said troops guarding the LOC in Keran sector of Kupwara district spotted some suspicious movement in the early hours of Monday after which a gunfight ensued.
"One terrorist has been killed in Keran sector of the LOC today (Monday) where the alert troops of the army foiled an infiltration bid," the spokesman said.
In another gunfight, another intruder was killed in Pallanwala (Akhnoor) sector of the LOC in Jammu district by the army, a senior police officer told IANS.
The infiltration bid in Pallanwala, 60 km from Jammu city, was made during the night, the police officer said.
