New Delhi: The Intelligence Bureau and Research & Analysis Wing have objected to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from buying properties in India. The Intelligence officials said the neighbouring country had stopped Air India operations and may have Pakistan Intelligence officials working for it.

Sources in the government told Economic Times that Finance Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi held a meeting on Thursday after PIA recently complained of harassment by Enforcement Directorate and the Reserve Bank of India for violations of Foreign Exchange Management Act for buying four flats and three underground parking at Barakhamba Road, in 2005, which houses the PIA head office.

Both IB and RAW opposed PIA holding offices in India including Delhi office at Barakhamba Road till the time Air India is allowed the same facility in Pakistan.

Earlier Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the primary foreign intelligence agency of India, had alerted that the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) might be involved in planning terror activities againt India.
