The Indian Air Force (IAF) recently carried out a successful test of its surface-to-surface version of the Brahmos Missile near the Eastern Seaboard archipelago. The images and the videos of the test-firing were shared by the IAF on its official 'X' handle. Meanwhile, BrahMos Aerospace reiterated its commitment to strengthen the firepower of the Indian Armed Forces and continue to be the flagbearer of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The BrahMos is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, and fighter aircraft. Notably, it is the fastest supersonic cruise missile in the world. It is a joint venture between the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroyeniya, who together have formed BrahMos Aerospace. The name BrahMos is a portmanteau formed from the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.
