New Delhi: India is a land of vast landscapes and there are roads which are relatively traffic free and pass through some of the scenic and spectacular areas.

Driving through the pristine hills, dense forests, cloud covered mountains, exotic flora and fauna, enchanting hills and green vegetation is enough to optimize your travelling experience amidst nature.

Take out your car and set  out for an enjoyable drive away from the hustle and bustle of city traffic madness  through some of the scenic roads in India.

Here is the list:

1. East Coast Road

Beginning from the old Mahabalipuram road and crossing the tidal park, this road then turns south and skirts the coast till it reaches Cuddalore.

However, it is only when you reach Uthandi that you begin to truly enjoy the uniqueness of this drive, with its speed bumps, swerve gates and fishing villages at the coast.

Do not miss an opportunity to drive along here when you come down to visit the southernmost state of India.

Driving along the road lets you enjoy a view of the Bay of Bengal, the vegetation along the Malabar Coast, and the Hanuman temple.

2. The Ghat Roads

Western Ghats extend from the Vindya and Satpura ranges in the Northern right up to the southern tip of the country and gives you a view of various types of forests like the evergreen forests, the scrub forests and moist deciduous forests apart from a variety of vegetation, grasslands and hills.

The Eastern Ghats on the other hand which start from West Bengal and go up to Tamil Nadu, provide you a fantastic view of the four scenic rivers namely the Krishna, Cauvery, the Mahanadi and the Godavari.
