New Delhi: In a strong reaction to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's resolution on Jammu and Kashmir, India on Friday said it dismisses it with "contempt" and advised the OIC to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of the country.
"We have seen the OIC Resolution commenting on the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is completely unacceptable. We dismiss it with the contempt it deserves. We advise the OIC to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of India," Spokesperson in the External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup said.
The reaction came after the 42nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC, which was concluded in Kuwait yesterday, adopted a resolution regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution said it regret "the travel restrictions imposed on the Kashmiri leadership due to non-issuance of travel documents" and noted "with regret the Indian attempt to malign the legitimate Kashmiri freedom struggle by denigrating it as terrorism and appreciating that the Kashmiris condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations".
