New Delhi, May 2: Happy over the death of 9/11 terror attack mastermind Osama bin Laden, surfers across the globe expressed solidarity in the fight against terrorism as India's netizens sought similar action against Mumbai underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, living in Pakistan.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was quick to join the cyber world to call for joining forces against Pakistan.
"Osama being killed in Pak proves that it shelters terrorists. GoI must unite global humanitarian forces against Pak," Modi tweeted.
Cyber users have asked for declaration of a new international holiday to mark Osama's killing by the US forces.
Besides, numbers of pages and communities being formed on social networking site Facebook, several tweets rained on micro blogging portal Twitter to praise US President Barack Obama for killing the dreaded Al-Qaeda chief.
"Make that 'a new International Holiday!," said Tigerkustoms Halle, a surfer in Australia.
"Good Luck Osama...!!! why can't u take Dawood with U," said a user on Facebook. "Burn in the depths of hell," said Rich van Oordt.
"I am so happy this madman is finally dead. To do what he did, this guy (and anybody for that matter) deserves what he got and that is to rot...
"To whoever soldier (or soldiers) accomplished doing this fantastic mission I applaud you. This is the best news I have ever heard in my life. USA rules. The greatest country in the entire world," said Shane Meritt, a Facebook user.
Prominent personalities like controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, actor Ranvir Shorey and Pritish Nandy among others also tweeted.
"Osama's death is not the end of terrorism. Fight against terrorism should be continued," tweeted Nasreen. Whereas Nandy said "Goodbye Osama. Hello Obama second term."
Almost 10 years after the 9/11 terror strike, Al-Qaeda mastermind bin Laden was killed by US forces this morning after being hounded in a special operation in Abbottabad in Pakistan.
"A prince gets married, the bad guy is dead. It's a real Disney weekend here on earth," tweeted RevRunJnr. Surfers uploaded several photographs of bin Laden on networking sites including the latest one proving his death.
"He (Osama) is dead! He didnt kill anyone in my family but he is the worst!," said a user.
"Surely US would have wanted Osama alive not dead. Something wrong. Hope Indian Govt gets Dawood alive. If they have nothing 2 hide," said noted film director Shekhar Kapoor in his tweets.
"Dear Govt of India, in the middle of your bickering with Pakistan, I have two words for you: DAWOOD IBRAHIM," tweeted actor Ranvir Shorey.
"Lets go after the others now," added Manisha Verma. "Today's date will be written in the history of terrorism ...finally an era of terrorism comes to an end... Great achievement by US.
