Srinagar, Dec 11: Hardliner Hurriyat Conference chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani today advocated implementation of Islamic system across the world saying, "only then peace will prevail".
Addressing a seminar here, Gilani said: “We have experimented communism, socialism, nationalism, capitalism, dictatorship and even secularism, but all have failed.
“Why are we ashamed to say that Islam is the only perfect system of life?” he asked.
Gilani said debates revolving around controversial laws like AFSPA were offshoots of an unresolved Kashmir problem.
“Black laws are branches of a tree. When the spring arrives, these will sprout again. The need is to address the root cause (of the problem),” he said.
The discussions centring around laws like AFSPA and PSA were derivatives of a lingering Kashmir issue, Gilani said.
Months after calling stone-pelting a “business of loss” for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Geelani said “those who want to pick up arms does not need out our certificates.”
