New Delhi: The International Committee of the Red Cross has started an online page where survivors of the April 25 earthquake as well as family members of those missing can register themselves to contact each other.  The website— http://familylinks.icrc.org/nepal-earthquake/ - can help register names of those who wish to inform that they are alive and also those with whom they have lost contact.  It has been launched in both English and Nepali.

“This website makes it possible to search through the list of missing persons and of those people who have responded that they are alive, register names of persons who wish to inform others that they are alive and names of those with whom they have lost contact,” the ICRC said in a statement.  On receiving the information, the Red Cross Movement will help locate those registered as missing and post the results on the website, it added.

The death toll in the quake has climbed to over 6,000 with another 11,000 others injured in the quake and the subsequent aftershocks.
