Azamgarh (UP), Dec 17: Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh today said he would disclose alleged secrets of Mulayam Singh Yadav's assets if he was asked by Yadav to do so.
Asking Mulayam Singh Yadav, SP President, to rein in his party leaders who have been daring him to reveal the "secrets", Amar Singh, Lok Manch president, said he can oblige if Yadav asks him to do so.
He was responding to SP leaders like Ram Gopal Yadav, brother of Mulayam, Akhilesh, the SP chief's son, and other party leaders who have been asking him to make the "secrets" public.
"Let Mulayam Singh Yadav ask me to do the same and I would reveal the secrets with regard to the disproportionate assets or else he should control his partymen who have been challenging me to spill the beans", Singh told a rally here.
Taking a dig at the SP chief, Singh said Mulayam Singh Yadav claims himself to be a follower of socialist thinker Ram Manohar Lohia, but "Lohia did not believe in taking any post himself. He rather gave posts to others" whereas Yadav became party president and made his brother the state party unit president, son an MP and daughter-in-law a leader.
Amar Singh, who has been demanding a separate Purvanchal state to be carved out of UP, asked chief minister Mayawati to get a proposal to this effect passed by the state assembly and send a letter to the Centre for the same.
"It is useless to send a letter to the Centre before getting the proposal passed by the assembly", he said.
He said when Chhattisgarh with four MPs and Sikkim with one MP can get the status of separate states, why can't Purvanchal, which has 28 MPs and 147 MLAs, not become a separate state. PTI
