In case of Municipal Corporations of Ambala, Yamunanagar/ Jagadhri, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Hisar and Panchkula, the charges would be Rs 100 per square yard. For Municipal Councils, it will be Rs 50 and for Municipal Committees, the rates will be Rs 30.
While 543 colonies have already been notified as Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Deficient Municipal Areas, 251 additional colonies are under consideration for providing basic amenities, Hooda informed.
In another decision, the Cabinet enhanced the norms of relief given on account of damage to crops due to floods, fire, electric sparking, hailstorm and dust storm and drought.
“The new rates of crop compensations are the highest in the country and will be effective from January 1 next year. This amount of compensation would be given under a new scheme known as Mukhya Mantri Fasal Surksha Yojna,” Hooda said.
The state Cabinet also approved in-principle the policy for planned development of low density eco-friendly colonies through grant of licence under the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
As a result of implementation of this policy, the grant of Change of Land Use permission for farmhouses shall be discontinued in the Hyper and High Potential Zones.
The Cabinet also approved to enhance the rates of old age samman allowance to Rs 1000 per month from Rs 700. Financial assistance to destitute children has also been raised from Rs 200 to Rs 500, effective from the same date.
The Cabinet also approved to provide government jobs of class III and IV on compassionate ground to one eligible spouse or children of martyr of armed forces or para military forces personnel, who is domicile of Haryana and is killed inb action in border skirmishes, terrorist attack or riots.
During the meeting, the Cabinet also mourned the demise of Union Minister Sis Ram Ola and observed a two-minute-long silence.
