Hingoli (Maharashta): A woman ASI attached to the Hingoli police allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself by her service revolver yesterday afternoon.
Superintendent of Police Sudhir Dabhade said Assistant Sub Inspector Poonam Mahajan, posted in the women's wing at the district headquarters, shot herself at her house in Aundha Nagnath town.
Her husband and tehsildar of Aundha Nagnath, Swaroop Kankal, was out of the town at the time.
A suicide note was found in the house in which she has said that no one should be held responsible for her act.
Further probe is on.
