Hooda announced that a massive rally to be attended by about 20 lakh people would be held in November and from there he would raise voice to support those farmers of Haryana and Punjab who are being “uprooted” from Gujarat.
“This massive rally reflecting unity of the country and its strength will raise a voice that we would not let these farmers adversely affected,” he said.
The Chief Minister also lambasted the opposition parties in the state for always neglecting the interest of the farmers and misleading them to fulfill their vested political interests.
Hooda said that the State Government has decided to give highest ever sugarcane prices to the farmers which is Rs 301 per quintal for the early variety of sugarcane, Rs 295 per quintal for mid variety and Rs 290 per quintal for late variety.
Hooda said that the previous INLD-BJP government remained in power in the state for six years but during the four consecutive years from the year 1999-2004, the rate of sugarcane remained only Rs 110 per quintal.
Taking a dig at Gujarat Chief Minister, without naming him, Hooda said that he was not in a habit of comparing states in terms of development as he feels happy when any state makes progress, the statistics of development speak for themselves.
He said that price of diesel in Haryana is Rs 50.43 per litre whereas it is Rs 55.52 in Uttarakhand, Rs 56.43 in Uttar Pradesh and Rs 57.83 in Gujarat. Similarly, petrol in Punjab is costlier than Haryana by Rs 6 per litre.
Hooda said in Haryana, highest wages of Rs 214 are being paid to the labourers under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) whereas these are Rs 184 in Punjab and Rs 147 in Gujarat.
On this occasion, Member of Parliament Deepender Hooda said Gujarat is giving Rs 250 as old age allowance whereas it is Rs 150 in Uttar Pradesh.
Contrary to this, Haryana is paying Old Age Allowance of Rs 750 per month. This allowance could further be raised, hinted Deepender.
