New Delhi: In a reflection of the special bonding, President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday morning called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to wish him on his 64th birthday.
People from different quarters also extended their good wishes for the charismatic politician, who took over as the Prime Minister India in May this year.

Narendra Damodardas Modi was born on September 17, 1950, at Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat to a lower middle-class family. His father sold tea at the local railway station where as his mother worked as a domestic help.
In 70s, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a pracharak. He actively participated in the anti-emergency movement in 1977.
At the age of 37, Modi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and played a vital role in helping the saffron outfit to establish a base in Gujarat.
In May 2014, Modi led the BJP to a stunning victory in the general elections by bagging 282 seats in the 543-member House.
