Hampi: The three-day Hampi Utsav got off to a splendorous start last night amid tight security.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the festival, a cultural bonanza that would see performance by 2,500 artists including from Nepal, Bangladesh and some African countries.
In view of the recent bomb blast in Bengauluru that claimed the life of a woman, police stepped up security deploying about 2,500 personnel.
Police have installed 12 CCTV cameras to monitor the busy areas and metal detectors, besides pressing dog squads into service.
