Lucknow: Gusty winds have ushered winter chill in Uttar Pradesh with the minimum temperature dropping considerably, officials said Monday.
The sweeping winds have brought down the minimum temperature by about seven degrees Celsius in Lucknow, the Indian Meteorological Department officials said.
The officials said that the minimum temperature over the last week hovered around 15 degrees Celsius but it has come down to 8.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature has also gone four degrees below the season's average.
Fog has been witnessed in the state as a result over a dozen trains have been running late.
Fog will intensify in December. The winds coming from the Himalayas at a speed of 10-20 km per hour have made the weather chilly, the Met officials told IANS.
