Gurgaon: A woman student abducted outside the Dronacharya Government College (DSD) in Gurgaon this morning was rescued within hours of the incident after the security footage of the kidnapping went viral.
According to the latest reports, the three accused have been taken into police custody. The car used in the kidnapping has also been recovered by the Gurgaon police.
The video, which went viral on social media sending the police into swift action, showed a girl being dragged into a white Maruti Swift car which did not have any number plates. The car is seen stopping because of traffic at a crowded intersection and its door flings open. The girl is seen fighting to escape but the door shuts and the car speeds off.
According to the police, the girl is safe and is currently at her residence.
“The girl knew the kidnappers. She spoke to the kidnappers before being dragged away. The girl was given some wrong information and led out. She is safe and back home,” Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk told India TV.
"The incident happened at around 9.30 in the morning when three boys approached this girl and brought her to the car and forcibly took her away. The girl has been recovered and is safely at home. Police officers are along with her investigating the matter," Virk said.
The resuce took the city police less than seven hours after the incident. Special investigation teams were formed to detect the case at the earliest, Gurgaon Police commissioner had said earlier.

The CCTV footage showed one of the accused enter the college through a broken wall at about 9:45 AM and call her from inside. After talking to her for a few minutes, he took her to the wall where three of his associates were waiting, with one of them seated in a car, police said.
"As soon the victim came across the wall, the accused dragged her in a white Swift Desire car and fled from the spot. The victim cried for help which alerted the passersby who informed the police," a senior police official had said earlier.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness said that he followed the car to some distance.
