Gujarat Opinion Poll 2022: Defying all anti-incumbency talks, the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to retain power in Gujarat in the upcoming assembly elections winning and overwhelming majority, India TV-Materize Opinion poll shows. Infact, the saffron party will win more seats that it won in 2017 assembly elections. The Congress will emerge as the main challenger for the BJP, but it will be placed a distant second. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is eyeing a handsome share of seats after winning Punjab earlier this year, will fail to touch double figures.

According to the opinion poll, BJP may win a huge majority of 119 seats in the 182-member Gujarat assembly, while Congress may win 59 seats and Aam Aadmi Party may win only three seats. In 2017 assembly elections, BJP had won 99 seats, Congress had won 81 seats and ‘others’ had won two seats.
