Kanpur, Nov 10: The UPA government is unfairly putting pressure on Team Anna to oppose the BJP and make statements against it, party leader Smriti Irani said here on Wednesday.
Facing attacks from all corners over price rise and corruption issues, the UPA government, in desperation, has now started putting undue pressure on Team Anna to oppose BJP and make statements against it, she said. Mamata Banerjee's opposition to the recent hike in petrol prices by the Centre was nothing but a “show off”, Irani said.
Holding the Uttar Pradesh government responsible for rising crime against women, the BJP Mahila Morcha chief said it was “extremely shameful” that despite a woman Chief Minister, women and young girls were being traumatised in the state.
Irani asked the Morcha workers to organise ‘Women Justice Chaupals' at the village, block and district levels in the state and expose the BSP government for its failure in protecting the women.
