Kohima: Nagaland Governor P B Acharya has urged Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati to improve upon the air connectivity problem being faced by the state in the wake of reduction of Dimapur-Kolkata-New Delhi Air India service from seven days to five days a week.
The Governor who met the minister in New Delhi yesterday urged him to immediately restore the daily service of Air India linking Dimapur, Kolkata and New Delhi and to provide helicopter services from Dimapur to Kohima, a press release issued here said.
The minister said he would do his best especially keeping in mind the upcoming Hornbill Festival in the state.
The minister informed the governor that he would speak to DoNER Minister to provide the necessary viability gap to cover the loss of Air India to operate in the Dimapur-Kolkata sector, the release said.
